Engr. Farouk Ahmed
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed, pointed out that the regulatory agency has adopted guidelines to ensure indigenous operators in the oil and gas industry are supported.
He made this statement through Mansur Kuliya, Executive Director, Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF), who represented him during his good will message at the 4th Edition of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF) 2023.
The NMDRA helmsman said efforts are being made to ensure cleaner fuels for the country. “Nigeria oil and gas industry which account for 80% of the country earnings must be supported for infrastructural development for the well-being of the country.”
Encouraging the oil and gas industry cannot be overemphasised because this is the only way to create employment for the people and help to unlock opportunities to sustain national development in the midstream and downstream sectors.
Farouk added that economic diversification is also necessary for national economy. While the Authority ensures it gives support for development of allied infrastructure. The Dangote refinery has opened way for other indigenous players to boost the objectives of the country and create more opportunities for the sector.
