NIGERIA WILL ATTAIN 30GW OF ELECTRICITY GENERATION IN 2030 SAYS MAMMAN, MINISTER OF POWER

Mr. Saleh Mamman, Minister of Power

The Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, made it known at the Future Energy Nigeria (FES) conference and Expo with the theme: “Advancing Partnerships and Solutions for a Sustainable Energy Economy,” that it has provided solutions to the power sector challenges in the country.

He stated further that aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SE4All), Nigeria developed her electricity vision EV:30:30:30 which entails a minimum electricity generation capacity of 30GW by the year 2030.

Also, as a party to the Paris Agreement, Nigeria made a commitment to reducing its Green House Gases by 20% unconditionally and 45% conditionally with Energy Mix so as to achieve these goals.

The Minister urged stakeholders and participants in the power sector that after deliberations they should accelerate development of the sector by collaborating towards achieving sustainable modern energy for all in 2030 which is the country’s target for virile electricity.
