In a significant move towards promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in Nigeria’s energy sector, the Women in Energy Network (WIEN) recently held a high-level meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Ogbe. Led by WIEN President Eyono Fatayi-Williams, the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions aimed at fostering a more inclusive environment for women in the energy industry.
The meeting, which took place at the NCDMB office in Abuja, served as a platform for WIEN to advocate for greater representation of women in various facets of the energy sector, including leadership roles, technical positions, and entrepreneurship opportunities. WIEN emphasized the importance of creating supportive policies and initiatives that empower women to excel and contribute significantly to the sector’s growth and development.
During the dialogue, Engr. Felix Ogbe commended WIEN for its commitment to advancing gender diversity and pledged NCDMB’s support for initiatives aimed at promoting women’s participation in the energy industry.
WIEN also presented its research findings and recommendations to the Executive Secretary, outlining actionable steps to address existing barriers and enhance opportunities for women in the energy sector.
In response, Engr. Felix Ogbe reiterated NCDMB’s commitment to partnering with WIEN and other stakeholders to drive positive change in the energy sector.
