The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers State Chapter, hereby disassociates itself from the recent statement made by the Chairperson, Mrs. Susan Serekara-Nwikhana, against the State Commissioner for Information and the State Governor, Sim Fubara.
We wish to clarify that Mrs. Serekara-Nwikhana was speaking solely in her personal capacity and does not represent the views, opinions, or stance of the Rivers State Chapter of NAWOJ. Her remarks do not align with the values, goals, and principles upheld by our association. The Rivers State Chapter has always maintained a professional and unbiased approach in its engagements with the government, stakeholders, and the general public.
In line with the association’s constitution and values, we will take appropriate action to address the breach of conduct by the Chairperson. NAWOJ Rivers State Chapter reserves the right to invoke its constitution and undertake necessary disciplinary actions regarding this matter.
We urge the public to disregard the statement and recognize that it does not reflect the position of NAWOJ Rivers State Chapter.
