-Felix Douglas
Speaking briefly in his remarks at Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES), Chairman of Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) and Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Retail Service, Huub Stokman was of the view that Nigeria needs to end energy poverty. Although, the country is not the only involved in such situation as it cuts across the globe.
Stokman advised that it should be addressed.
The NNPC Retail boss acknowledged that the country has many energy sources to drive economic development. Energy helps to drive economic development and the country has multiple cycle energies which involves solar, hydrocarbon among many other sources.
Stokman advocated for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which is an export fuel that plays a major role to reduce cost.
It will be recalled that after subsidy removal, industry experts have called for the use of CNG to reduce cost.
He said Nigeria has a choice to get and sustain energy with trust.
