Chief Executive Officer of Axxela Limited, Bolaji Osunsanya, has said the firm was enabling the development of industrial gas clusters to help boost economic development.
He spoke at the commissioning of the new 18 kilometres gas pipeline in Ogun State.
The 150 million standard cubic feet per day of gas (mmscfd) pipeline runs from Ibefun to Rite Foods Limited’s large-scale factory in Ososa.
The pipeline was built by Axxela through its subsidiary, Transit Gas Nigeria Limited (TGNL), in partnership with the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Limited (NGMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Osunsanya said: “Axxela/NGMC pioneered gas distribution in Lagos, and our present postioning enables us to increase our industrial and commercial client footprint across the south-western corridor.”
The project is under the Sagamu Gas Distribution Zone (SGDZ), a joint venture between NGMC and TGNL (the NGMC/TGNL JV), which commenced operations in 2019 by delivering gas to growing industrial users.
