The ONELGA Flood Mitigation and Control Committee, chaired by Chief Julius Okenya, has commenced the distribution of essential relief materials to residents in flood-impacted zones of Omoku, Igburu, and Egi.
Chief Okenya, overseeing the distribution efforts, highlighted that the relief items were specifically designated for families directly affected by the floods. “These supplies have been provided by the ONELGA Council under the leadership of Chairman Prince Isaac Umejuru. While this assistance is crucial, we are also expecting further support from agencies like NEMA and other interventionist organizations,” Okenya stated.
Ward Councilors and stakeholders from each of the three zones received the supplies, extending their gratitude to Chairman Umejuru for his swift response to the crisis. They expressed appreciation for his commitment to helping affected residents navigate the challenges posed by the flood.
The ONELGA Council’s initiative provides much-needed relief and demonstrates a commitment to supporting the community through this difficult period, as further assistance from federal and state authorities is anticipated.
